Colombia utility seeks equipment for 660-MW Porce 3

Colombia utility Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM) seeks bids by June 2 for turbine-generators and other equipment for the 660-MW Porce 3 hydroelectric project on the Porce River in Antioquia Department.

EPM seeks bids for design, manufacture, assembly, testing, commissioning, and training for either or both lots:
o Group 1 — Francis turbines, valves, governors, and gates; and
o Group 2 — Synchronous generators, excitation systems, and switching equipment.

Last year, EPM awarded a US$450 million construction contract to a consortium led by Construcoes e Comercio Camargo Correa of Brazil and including Colombian firms Conconcreto and Coninsa. Camargo Correa said construction of the US$900 million project would be completed in 2010.

Bid documents must be obtained by April 28 from the address below for 600,000 pesos (US$264.20).
