Sri Lanka reissues dam safety, water resources solicitation

The government of Sri Lanka has reissued a request for expressions of interest from consultants to implement a program including dam safety and water resources management work. Responses now are due March 15.

With US$50 million in funding from the World Bank’s International Development Association, Sri Lanka plans to implement a National Water Management Improvement (NAWAM) project. (HNN 2/20/07) The project includes:
o Improving dam safety and operational efficiency;
o Upgrading and modernizing the hydro-meteorological information system;
o Providing technical assistance for integrated water resources planning and management; and
o Supporting institutional development and capacity building.

The work is to take five years beginning in June 2007.

Expressions of interest and qualifications, in English, are due by 2:30 p.m. March 15 to the address below. Applications are to be labeled �Expression of Interest for Project Implementation Support Consultants of NAWAM Project.�
