Utility Empresa de Electricidade e Gaz seeks bids for construction of the 1.134-MW Ribeira Grande hydro project in the Portugal-owned Azores Islands. Bids are due July 28.
The project includes construction of three dams on Ferreiro River, Grande River, and a tributary, plus an intake on a second tributary on Flores Island in the Azores group in the mid-Atlantic. The work includes construction of a powerhouse including two 567-kW Pelton turbines, other electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical equipment, and automation.
Bid documents may be obtained until 5 p.m. July 4 from the address below for 500 euros (US$777) by cash or check to Empresa de Electricidade e Gaz.
