Corps awards contract for surveying and mapping work in northwestern United States

WALLA WALLA, Wash. 5/23/12 (PennWell) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth US$5 million to Rogers Surveying Inc. for surveying and mapping services in the Corps’ Northwestern Division.
The contract — last offered in June 2011 — calls for the Washington-based firm to survey and map in Oregon, Washington and Idaho, with possible work in Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Nevada.

Services are to include:
— Conventional land surveying;
— High-order geodetic-type surveys incorporating FGCC modified SRMDS method differential leveling for electronic digital barcode leveling systems in support of project precise leveling tasks and three-dimensional dam deformation analysis;
— Single-beam transect and topographic bathymetric surveys designed for riverbed condition analysis; and
— Global positioning system surveys.

The contract’s duration is a base period of one year, with an option for four additional years. Each additional period will not exceed $1 million.
