Scottish Renewables is celebrating the 70th anniversary of Scotland’s Hydro-Electric Development of 1943 with a special event to be held in Perth on May 8.
The event includes a dinner, conference and gallery showcasing Scottish hydroelectric power development. Scottish Renewables said the events are intended to “look back at the history of the hydro sector in Scotland, what has been achieved, the lessons we have learned and how we will develop in the future.”
The anniversary dinner will be held at Perth Racecourse and will feature First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond as a featured speaker.
Meanwhile, the conference and gallery will be held at Perth Concert Hall. The conference seeks to address “key issues in Scotland” with an “informative line-up of senior industry leaders, academics and government figures”, while the gallery will present a timeline of Scotland’s hydropower history.
