Austria firm awards replacement runner contract for two plants

Austrian railway company Oesterreichische Bundesbahnen (OBB) has awarded a contract for replacement turbine runners for its Obervellach and Enzingerboden hydroelectric projects.

OBB chose Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation from among two bidders for work on the two plants. (HNN 3/3/08)

Voith Siemens is to disassemble, supply, and reassemble replacement Pelton runners and shafts for 3.7-MW Units 1 and 2 of the Obervellach project and Pelton runners for 15-MW Units 2 and 3 of Enzingerboden. The original solicitation called for the work to be carried out by November 2012.
