Austria firm wins construction of Melach Unterstufe

Municipal utility Elektrizitatswerk Kematen has awarded a contract to an area firm to build a powerhouse and pressure pipeline for the Melach Unterstufe hydroelectric plant in Austria.

Kematen awarded the contract, valued at 4.38 million euros (US$6.48 million) to Bietergemeinschaft Teerag-Asdag AG � Alpine Bau GmbH of Kemanten in Tirol. The winner was among six bidders for the work. (HNN 8/20/07)

The municipal utility plans a new lower level power plant at Melach, including a powerhouse, pressure pipeline, mechanical and electro-technical equipment, and hydraulic steel construction. The current contract is for the powerhouse and pressure pipeline components.
