Austria utility awards generator rehab for 187-MW Melk

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG has awarded a generator refurbishment contract for the 187-MW Melk hydroelectric project on the Danube River in Austria.

Verbund awarded the contract to VA Tech Hydro GmbH to perform design, manufacturing, supply, assembly, start-up, and documentation for one three-phase synchronous generator for the Melk project. (HNN 10/2/08)

VA Tech Hydro was one of two bidders to perform the work.
