Austria utility hires switchgear rehab for 236.5-MW Ybbs-Persenbeug

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG has awarded a contract to an Austrian firm to refurbish switchgear of the 236.5-MW Ybbs-Persenbeug hydroelectric project on Austria’s Danube River.

Verbund named YIT Building &Infrastructure Solution GmbH of Vienna to refurbish and commission three lots comprising 0.4-kilovolt, 6-kilovolt, and 20-kilovolt switchgear. YIT was chosen from among five bidders. (HNN 2/5/08)

In addition to the switchgear solicitation earlier this year, Verbund also solicited three lots comprising machine instrumentation, excitation, and turbine governors.
