Austria utility seeks electrical equipment for 480-MW Limberg 2

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power seeks bids for supply of electrical distribution and control equipment for the 480-MW Limberg 2 pumped-storage project in Austria. Bids are due February 27.

Verbund is building an underground powerhouse containing two motor-generators as part of the Glockner Kaprun scheme, near the 240-MW Kaprun project. Limberg 2 is to employ the existing storage reservoirs of Mooserboden and Wasserfallboden. In January, Verbund called for bids for electrical protection equipment. (HNN 1/3/08)

The hydro operator seeks bids to engineer, supply, assemble, and commission electrical equipment including light and power service, emergency lighting, a public address system, and structural wiring. The contract is to run from May 2008 through 2012.

Commissioning of Limberg 2’s first 240-MW unit is scheduled for autumn 2011, with full commercial operation in March 2012.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below. Bids, in German, are due by 1 p.m. February 27.
