Austria utility seeks switchgear for 23.5-MW Paternion, sister plants

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG seeks bids for supply of 20-kilovolt replacement switchgear for the 23.5-MW Paternion hydroelectric project on Austria’s Drau River. Bids are due June 25.

Verbund seeks disassembly of old switchgear and planning, design, supply, installation, testing, and start-up of 20 kV-SF6 switchgear for Paternion, which was built in 1988. The proposed contract includes an option to supply similar equipment for two nearly identical projects on the Drau, 24.6-MW Villach, built in 1984, and 24.6-MW Kellerberg, built in 1985.

The work is to be performed between September 2007 and March 2010.
