The World Bank’s International Finance Corp. (IFC) invites expressions of interest from consultants to serve as stakeholder engagement/communications specialist for the hydropower and forestry sectors in Laos. Responses are due August 19.
IFC announced in June it plans to work with the Laotian government in developing draft laws that would help govern hydroelectric power development. The World Bank unit also launched an advisory services program on hydropower and forestry.
IFC recruited consultants in April to facilitate a Hydropower Developers Working Group. In February the government sought consultants to perform sub-basin modeling for reservoir management and hydropower development planning.
IFC now seeks consultants to develop and implement communication strategies, lead stakeholder outreach, and manage media relations and awareness raising campaigns in support of sustainable business in the hydropower and forestry sectors of Laos.
Expressions of interest are due August 19, in English, electronically via the World Bank’s eConsult Internet site, https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html. A solicitation notice is available on the website under Business Opportunities, Selection No. 1116180.
