Brazil seeks consultants to set framework for renewables, including hydro

Brazil’s environment ministry seeks expressions of interest from consultants to analyze the legal and regulatory framework for alternative and renewable energy sources including small hydropower. Responses are due April 13.

The Ministerio de Meio Ambiente also seeks analysis of environmental licensing for such projects, which also could include solar, wind, and biomass energy. Brazil courted consultants for similar work in 2007. (HydroWorld 10/5/07)

The detailed request for expressions of interest, and qualifications required to participate, may be obtained from the ministry Internet site, www.mma.gov.br/tal_ambiental.

Expressions of interest and qualifications, labeled “Unidade de Coordenacao do Projeto – Projeto BRA/05/043 – MI 04/2009.” are due by April 13 to Caixa Postal 10805, CEP 70306-970 Brasilia DF, Brazil.
