Burundi seeks financial management consultant for 31.5-MW Jiji, 16.5-MW Mulembwe hydro projects

Burundi’s water and electric utility invites expressions of interest to serve as financial management consultant for the 31.5-MW Jiji and 16.5-MW Mulembwe hydroelectric projects being developed in Burundi’s Bururi Province. Responses are due December 16.

Regie de Production et de Distribution d’Eau et d’Electricite (REGIDESO) recruited consultants in November for a financial audit and for organization of procurement procedures for the development project, Projet Hydroelectrique de Jiji et Mulembwe (PHJIMU). It also recruited consultants in September to handle PHJIMU records and accounts. The African Development Bank Group’s board of directors approved in June a US$22 million grant to help fund development of Jiji and Mulembwe.

REGIDESO now seeks consultants to serve as manager responsible for establishment and maintenance of a financial management system for the Jiji and Mulembwe projects. The contract is to be for 12 months and renewable if necessary.

Expressions of interest are due to the address below by 10 a.m. December 16, labeled “Manifestation d’Interet pour les Recrutement d’un Consultant en Gestion Financiere du Projet Hydroelectrique de Jiji et Mulembwe (PHJIMU).”
