Cavico wins tunnel contract for Vietnam’s 30-MW Za Hung

Vietnam hydro project builder Cavico Corp. has received a contract to carry out a tunnel and open works construction at Vietnam’s 30-MW Za Hung hydroelectric project.

The 69 billion dong (US$4.3 million) contract from Za Hung Joint Stock Co., calls for construction of the hydropower tunnel and surge systems and building of the powerhouse and personnel facilities at Za Hung in Dong Giang District of Quang Nam Province. (HNN 11/16/06) Cavico Power Line Installation is completing the 6-meter-wide, 1,560-meter tunnel, while Cavico Infrastructure is completing the powerhouse.

Cavico Power Line Installation began transporting equipment and personnel to the site upon completion of a tunnel for the 33-MW Bac Binh hydropower project under a US$7.5 million contract. Bac Binh is being developed by Vietnam Electricity Development Joint Stock Co. in Bac Binh Province.
