Core drilling sought at Nepal’s 3,400-MW Sapta Kosi

A Nepal-India joint venture seeks bids by October 19 for core drilling at the 3,400-MW Sapta Kosi Dam site near Barahkshetra, Nepal.

Joint Project Office-Sapta Kosi Sun Kosi Investigation (JPO-SKSKI) seeks diamond core drilling for geo-technical investigations at the site in Sunsari District.

The Sapta Kosi multipurpose and 10-MW Sun Kosi diversion schemes are among projects being developed jointly by Nepal and neighboring India. Other projects, all on rivers flowing into India, include 480-MW Karnali multipurpose, 6,400-MW Pancheshwar multipurpose, 600-MW Burhi Gandaki, and 300-MW Upper Karnali. (HNN 8/18/06)
