Corps awards governor contract for 517.8-MW Garrison

The Corps of Engineers is retrofitting the governors at its 517.8-MW Garrison Dam power plant, on the Missouri River in Garrison, N.D.

The Corps hired L&S Electric to furnish, install, and test new governor controls, accessories, and digital retrofits for all five units. The $938,850 contract also calls for L&S Electric to remove and dispose of existing governor mechanical controls. (HNN 8/17/06)

Work is to be completed by September.
