Corps to seek hydropower engineering services

The Corps of Engineers seeks information from firms capable of providing hydroelectric engineering services in the agency’s Nashville District. Responses are due Aug. 31, 2009.

The Nashville District issued a sources sought notice to determine the interest, size, and availability of firms for up to five contracts for hydropower plant maintenance and repair design tasks that primarily require electrical or mechanical engineering and related engineering expertise.

Among expected tasks are development of scopes of services, studies, reports, estimates, design criteria, plans, and specifications for maintenance and repair of existing hydropower facilities in the Nashville District’s hydropower program.

Work is to be issued by negotiated firm fixed-price task orders. The total cumulative amount of all task orders is not to exceed $5 million over five years. Groups with prime-sub relationships or joint ventures will be considered as well as firms having all disciplines in house.
