Costa Rica seeks hydro area survey, seismic equipment

Costa Rica seeks firms to perform a topographic survey of hydropower project areas as well as equipment for a seismic network under its electricity development program. Responses to separate solicitations are due Sept. 1 and 20.

Hydro-rich Costa Rica pre-qualified firms in July to supply a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and other equipment for its national power control center.

National utility Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) invites expressions of interest by September 1 to provide topographic surveying services using Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology. Work is to include digital terrain models and digital surface models, mapping areas of interest.

The survey work is to include determining biomass in the zones of influence of hydroelectric projects Ayil, Los Llanos, RC500 (RC500 Palmas 1, Palmas 2), Savegre, Brujos 1, Brujos 2, and RG430.
