Could your plant be the next Project of the Year?

If you have an energy project that came online between Aug. 1, 2017, and July 31, 2018, it could be a 2018 Project of the Year.

Power Engineering and Renewable Energy World are seeking nominations for the 2018 Projects of the Year Awards, and categories related to the waterpower market include Best Renewable Project and Best Energy Storage Project.

Projects submitted should be innovative, overcoming challenges and making a big impact on local communities.

Criteria for judging are:

  • Technological innovation
  • Local impact
  • Logistical challenges and creativity
  • Capacity

Retrofits and upgrades are eligible.

There is an entry fee of $175 for nominations received by July 31 and $300 for entries received after that date, and all entries are due by Aug. 31.

Also nominate a Woman of the Year

Nominations also are open for the Power Generation Woman of the Year Award, which is given annually to showcase highly successful women in the power industry.

A judging committee reviews all nominations received based on how that person has advanced the power generation industry, is a leader, and has made a substantial community impact.

Nominations are also due Aug. 31, and the winner will speak at the Women in Power Luncheon during Power Generation Week.
