Croatia seeks more consultants for renewables program

The government of Croatia issued another series of invitations for expressions of interest from consultants to support the development of renewable energy resources including small hydropower. Responses to three solicitations are due May 25.

The World Bank previously granted US$5.5 million to the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Hrvatska Banka za Obnovu i Razvitak). The bank called for consultants earlier in May and in February for a total of eight other tasks. (HNN 4/27/09)

In the current solicitations, the Croatian bank seeks consultants for:
o Contract B1-7, support renewables developers through expert workshops on small hydro, biomass, and biogas projects;
o Contract B3-1, provide support for capacity building and financial practice by assessing how renewable energies are different from conventional energy projects and what affects their ability to attract finance;
o Contract B3-3, support development of renewable energy resources project financing, integrating legal, contractual, and scheduling issues.

Expressions of interest for each solicitation are due by 3 p.m. May 25.
