Dominican Republic seeks study of generating assets, hydro resources

The Dominican Republic invites expressions of interest from consultants to assess its generating assets and its hydropower resources. Responses are due May 4.

With a loan from the World Bank, the government’s Comision Nacional de Energia (CNE) seeks a consultant for power sector technical assistance.

Part A of the work includes procedures for determining the effective power and efficiency of thermal projects on the nation’s interconnected power system.

Part B includes determination of the characteristics of hydroelectric facilities, operative restrictions of river basins, and procedures to determine the value of water in river basins associated with hydroelectric facilities, as well as the minimum capacities of those facilities.
