Equipment contracts awarded for Austria’s 236.5-MW Ybbs-Persenbeug

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG has awarded contracts for instrumentation, governors, and excitation for refurbishment of the 236.5-MW Ybbs-Persenbeug hydroelectric project on Austria’s Danube River.

The utility awarded a contract to Poyry Energy GmbH of Austria to supply two lots comprising machine instrumentation and turbine governors. It awarded a third lot to Alstom Hydro Austria GmbH to supply excitation and connection to high-voltage equipment.

Verbund took bids in February for engineering, manufacturing, supply, assembly, testing, startup, and documentation of the equipment. (HNN 2/5/08) It said it received four bids.
