Equipment installed at Turkey’s 60-MW Sanliurfa

Turkey’s General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (Dsi) issued a provisional acceptance certificate to Alstom for supply of control center and generating equipment for the 60-MW Sanliurfa multipurpose project.

Alstom provided control equipment for the Sanliurfa Tunnel Outlet Control Center that regulates and supervises irrigation of 500,000 hectares in the Southeast Anatolia Project (GAP). Water from Ataturk Reservoir passes through two 26-kilometer tunnels and enters a tunnel that feeds the irrigation system and the power plant.

Alstom Hydro Power supplied two 30-megavolt-ampere generators, excitation systems, and balance of plant equipment. Alstom’s hydro unit in Birr, Switzerland, was responsible for project management and manufacturing.
