Finland utility seeks generator upgrade at 110-MW Pirttikoski

Utility Kemijoki Oy invites applications for pre-qualification to uprate two generators of the 110-MW Pirttikoski hydroelectric project in Finland. Responses are due April 10.

The hydro operator seeks uprating of two 70-megavolt-ampere generators supplied by Siemens Schuckert in 1959 and 1960. Work includes new stators and new rotor poles if necessary. The first unit is to be completed by November 2009 and the second by November 2010.
