Franklin Park to take stake in India Hydropower Development Co.

Franklin ParkIndia LLC, managed by Franklin Park Energy LLC, has entered a definitive agreement to buy 50 percent of hydropower developer India Hydropower Development Co. (IHDC). Dodson-Lindblom International Inc. holds the other 50 percent of IHDC.

Franklin Park, an affiliate of the diversified financial services firm Guggenheim Partners LLC, is a private company focused on developing, owning, and operating infrastructure businesses worldwide.

IHDC is to use Franklin Park’s investment capital to expand its business in India. It currently owns, operates, and is building hydropower projects in India’s Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh states. It also is close to acquiring additional facilities in Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh states.

Financing for the projects will be provided under a facility among IHDC, the World Bank’s International Finance Corp., and Deutsche Investitions – und Entwicklungsgesellschaft.
