French agency takes bids to operate, maintain 4.15-MW Cheylard

French agency Syndicat Departemental d’Equipement d l’Ardeche seeks bids for a 30-year concession to operate, maintain, and refurbish the 4.15-MW Cheylard hydroelectric project on France’s Eyrieux River. Bids are due June 22.

The administrative lease of the small hydro project includes operation of the project dam, reservoir, and the power plant. The lease is valued at 8.8 million euros (US$11.8 million).

The project has a contract to sell electricity to Electricite de France until October 2012. Other project purposes include irrigation, tourism, and ensuring minimum flows at the foot of the dam.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below until 4 p.m. June 10. Bids are due by 4 p.m. June 22.
