French hydro operator seeks gate renovation for Rhone plants

Compagnie Nationale du Rhone (CNR) invites applications for pre-qualification to renovate gates of its hydropower plants on France’s Rhone River. Responses are due May 28.

CNR owns 18 hydro plants on the Rhone ranging from 40 MW to 400 MW and totaling 2,937 MW. (HNN 2/20/09) It said it plans to develop a list of pre-qualified companies to renovate gates over an unlimited period. CNR previously issued similar invitations to supply gates, valves, and trashracks, and turbine runners and hubs. (HNN 8/14/08)
