French utility seeks control, governor rehab of 95-MW Brevieres

Electricite de France (EDF) plans to seek bids for renovation of controls and governors at the 95-MW Brevieres hydroelectric project in France. The utility expects to begin tendering April 16.

EDF seeks renovation of controls and governors of the project, which has three Francis turbine-generators of 36 megavolt-amperes each.

Bids are expected to be requested for either or both of two lots, one including automation, local area network, and replacement of control and excitation cables, and the other for replacement of mechanical governors with electronic units. Work is expected to be performed between July 2007 and October 2010.
