French utility seeks crest gate work for Motz Dam

Electricite de France (EDF) seeks bids for crest gate improvements at Motz Dam on the Rhone River. Responses are due June 4.

EDF seeks replacement of valves to increase the crest gate capacity and make dam operations safer. The work includes electro-mechanical, civil engineering, and control subsets.

In 2002, EDF pre-qualified equipment suppliers to equip a mini-hydroelectric plant at Motz Dam, which is operated by Compagnie Nationale du Rhone near Seyssel in Savoie Prefecture of eastern France.
