French utility seeks penstock rehab at 101-MW Aston

Electricite de France (EDF) seeks bids for refurbishment of penstocks of the 101-MW Aston hydroelectric project in France. Bids are due November 28.

The utility had called for bids in January for refurbishment of penstocks of Aston and the 126-MW Passy project, but later canceled the Aston solicitation.

The utility currently seeks bids to dismantle and replace the lower part of one penstock, install handling equipment, construct new piers, and apply anti-corrosion coating at Aston in Ariege. The work is expected to require 35 months.

Bids, in French, are due by 7 p.m. November 28. For information, contact Electricite de France, Direction des Achats – Agence Achats Hydraulique, 5 Rue Claude Marie Perroud – TSA 60041, Attn.: Jean-Claude Bossard, 31096, Toulouse, France; (33) 567694460; Fax: (33) 567694476; E-mail:; Internet:
