French utility seeks ROV inspection of dams

Electricite de France (EDF) seeks bids for regular underwater inspection of its dams by cameras on remotely operated vehicles (ROV). Bids are due August 22.

EDF previously called for bids for sonic dam inspection services for its hydroelectric projects on the Rhine River in Alsace Province. (HNN 4/28/08)

The current solicitation does not specify projects but seeks a five-year contract for 18 underwater inspections per year by ROV under terms of EDF’s government concessions for its projects. The utility seeks another estimated four inspections per year outside the concession requirement. The contract would run from 2009-2014.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below until 5 p.m. July 31. Bids, in French, are due by 5 p.m. August 22.
