German utility awards equipment replacement at 720-kW Siglingen

German utility EnBW has awarded a contract to a German firm to replace all generating equipment at the 720-kW Siglingen hydroelectric project.

EnBW awarded the contract November 21 to Wiegert &Bahr Maschinenbau GmbH, one of three bidders for the work. (HNN 5/21/07)

The contract includes construction, supply, assembly, start-up, and training for complete replacement of three Francis turbines, generators, governors, and other equipment for the project. Work is to be carried out between April and December 2008.
