German utility seeks turbines for 2.2-MW Isarwerk 2

Utility Stadtwerke Munchen GmbH (SWM) seeks bids to supply turbines for the 2.2-MW Isarwerk 2 hydroelectric project on Germany’s Isar River in Bavaria. Bids are due June 25.

SWM seeks bids for planning, supply, assembly, and start-up of four 680-kW Kaplan turbines designed for a head of 4.2 meters and flow of 17.5 cms. Isarwerk 2, which began service in 1923, currently utilizes two 1.1-MW Francis units. Work is to begin in November 2008.

Requests for participation, in German, are to be submitted using a standard form that can be obtained by request in writing to the address below or from the Internet at Bids are due by noon June 25.
