Grant County PUD seeks professional engineering services

Grant County Public Utility District seeks proposals for general professional engineering services for PUD hydro facilities. Proposals are due Feb. 28.

The contractor is to provide services on an as-needed, project-by-project basis related to operations, maintenance, rehabilitation, and upgrading of district hydro facilities. Grant County PUD owns and operates the 1,893-MW Priest Rapids project (No. 2114). (HNN 2/1/08)

Services are to include preliminary design, detail design, procurement, construction engineering/management, project close out, and support. Various types of work could be included, such as: expansion, rehabilitation, or upgrading of powerhouse, spillway structures, and mechanical equipment such as gates, hoists, cranes, turbines, generators, governors, compressors, pumps, piping, and station service.

Work also could include: inspection, study, design, and rehabilitation of structures and equipment; embankment, gravity structure, and spillway stabilization investigation and design; construction design and management services; studies for effects of pool increases; and new seismic criteria and dam failure analysis.
