Haag replaces Schaller as president, CEO of Voith Group

Dr. Toralf Haag has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Voith Group, replacing Stephan Schaller, who the company said will resign his office as of October 31 for personal reasons.

The Shareholders’ Committee has appointed Dr. Haag, who has been a member of the Corporate Board of Management since October 2016 and is responsible for finance and controlling. He will maintain his previous responsibility for Finance and Controlling and also take on the new role.

Schaller was named head of the corporate board of management at Voith GmbH & Co. KGaA, in April 2018, succeeding Dr. Hubert Lienhard. Schaller had been a member of Voith’s shareholders’ committee since 2015 and was responsible for the motorcycle division of the BMW Group before joining Voith.

According to a press release, “The shareholders and the Shareholders’ Committee cordially thank Stephan Schaller for his commitment to the company over the last years in the supervisory boards and the Corporate Board of Management and wish him all the best for his further journey.”

Voith is a global technology group working in the markets of energy, oil and gas, paper, raw materials and transport and automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith has more than 19,000 employees, sales of €4.2 billion and locations in more 60 countries worldwide.

Recently, Voith Hydro Holding GmbH & Co. KG and the Siemens Energy Management Division signed a letter of intent for collaborating on appropriate hybrid power projects containing hydropower.
