Hatch Acres to design Guatemala’s 55-MW Bella Vista 1

Enel Latin America has awarded an engineering services contract to Hatch Acres of Canada for Phase 1 of the 55-MW Bella Vista 1 hydroelectric project in west-central Guatemala.

Hatch Acres is to conduct detailed conceptual design of a new powerhouse containing two Pelton turbines, a 23-meter-tall, 80-meter-long concrete-faced rockfill dam, a desander, penstock, surge tank, access roads and 55 kilometers of transmission line.

The design is to accommodate eventual construction of a proposed 100-MW Bella Vista 2 project.
