Huennebeck supplies forms to Ethiopia’s 420-MW Gilgel Gibe 2

Harsco Corp. of the United States announced its newly acquired Huennebeck Group received an order to supply special formwork components for the 420-MW Gilgel Gibe 2 hydroelectric project being built on Ethiopia’s Gilgel Gibe River.

Harsco said the “substantial export order” went to its Huennebeck Italy unit. Huennebeck is Europe’s third largest provider of highly engineered concrete formwork and scaffolding services for the construction industry.

Last year, the main contractor of Gilgel Gibe 2, Salini Costruttori SpA of Italy, awarded a contract to ATB Riva Calzoni SpA of Italy to supply steel structures for the project.
