Hydro technology and services provider NAES announces new Director of Safety

Hydroelectric technology and services provider NAES has hired Tony Downey as its Director of Safety for Maintenance and Construction.

Downey will be based in NAES‘ Pittsburgh office, where he will be responsible for safety process and technical support for NAES Power Contractors, and also its Turbine Services and Industrial Services divisions.

Downey’s 28 years of power and construction industry safety come from his experience as Senior Director of EH&S at Day & Zimmerman ECM, Director of Safety at Day & Zimmerman NPS, and Safety Coordinator at CRS Sirrine and Catalytic Inc.

NAES said he holds certifications in OSHA 500, 502 and 510 standards. Downey is also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, co-chair of the NACBE Safety and Health Committee, and past chairman of the TAUC Safety and Health Committee.

HydroWorld.com reported in January that NAES had appointed Robert E. Fishman as its new president and CEO.
