Iceland utility seeks rehab at 27-MW Steingrimsstod

Iceland utility Landsvirkjun seeks bids by July 26 in separate tenders for generator refurbishment and for excitation equipment at the 27-MW Steingrimsstod hydroelectric project.

Steingrimsstod began operation in 1959 on the Upper Sog River, where it drains Lake Thingvallavatn into Lake Ulfljotsvatn. It has two turbine-generators of 13.5-MW each.

In tender OTE-07, Landsvirkjun seeks design, manufacture, testing, installation supervision, and commissioning of stator core, stator windings, and field windings for refurbishment of one 16.5-megavolt-ampere generator. Bid documents may be obtained for 3,000 kronur (US$41). Bids are due by 2 p.m. July 26.

In tender OTE-08, Landsvirkjun seeks design, manufacture, testing, installation supervision, and commissioning of excitation equipment for two 16.5-MVa generators. Bid documents may be obtained for 1,000 kronur (US$14). Bids are due by 4 p.m. July 26.
