India firm seeks unit rehab at 690-MW Salal

National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) invites bids by April 25 to refurbish a turbine at the 690-MW Salal hydroelectric project in Jammu &Kashmir State. Bid documents must be obtained by March 10.

Salal comprises Salal 1 and Salal 2, each of which has three 115-MW vertical shaft Francis turbine-generators. Work is to include design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of: runner and associated components; bottom ring; guide vane; and microprocessor-based digital governing system.

Bidding documents may be obtained until March 10 from the address below by a request labeled “Request for bid documents for renovation and modernization works for Salal Power Station,” accompanied by 5,000 rupees (US$110) by demand draft to NHPC payable at Faridabad. The documents also may be obtained from NHPC’s Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, until March 10, followed by a notification letter to the address below by March 17 along with the document fee.
