India seeks construction for 50-MW Nagarjunasagar Tail Pond

State-owned Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp. (APGENCO) seeks bids by June 9 for steel work, and by June 20 for powerhouse civil construction for the 50-MW Nagarjunasagar Tail Pond Dam project, on the Krishna River in India’s Andhra Pradesh State.

Bid documents must be requested by May 20 for both solicitations.

In tender specification C-1871/NSTPD/7/2006, APGENCO seeks bids by 3 p.m. June 9 for design, supply, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of gates, hoists, and trashracks for the dam and powerhouse, as well as steel penstock liners.

In tender specification C-1872/NSTPD/08/2006, APGENCO seeks bids by 3 p.m. June 20 for civil works for the powerhouse and tailrace channel.

Requests for bid documents for each solicitation must be delivered by May 20 to the address below. Each must be accompanied by: a copy of the bidder’s registration certificate as a Special Class Contractor; copies of experience certificates; a demand draft for the cost of the bid documents of 11,250 rupees (US$251); a demand draft for 100,000 rupees (US$2,229) of the earnest money deposit; and a demand draft or bank guarantee for the remainder of the earnest money deposit, in the amount of 650,000 rupees (US$14,486) for APGENCO permanent earnest money deposit holders or 900,000 rupees (US$20,058) for all other bidders. Demand drafts are to be drawn in favor of Pay Officer, APGENCO, Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad.

Earnest money deposits will be forfeited by applicants who obtain tender documents but do not submit bids.
