India utility seeks HM equipment for 600-MW Loharinag Pala

India’s NTPC Ltd., formerly National Thermal Power Corp., seeks bids by March 22 for hydro-mechanical equipment for the 600-MW Loharinag Pala hydroelectric project on the Bhagirathi River in Uttaranchal State.

NTPC seeks design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of a complete hydro-mechanical package, including gates, stoplogs, hoists, and gantry cranes for dam, head regulator, intake, desilting chamber, silt flushing tunnel, surge shaft, downstream unit isolation gate, and tailrace outlet, with electrical controls and all accessories.

NTPC has applied for megapower project status from India’s Ministry of Power. If status is granted, imported goods will be eligible for exemption from customs duty.

Bid documents for No. CS-5506-902-2 may be obtained until 3 p.m. March 7 from the address below for 22,500 rupees for domestic bidders or US$500 for foreign bidders. Payment is to be by account payee demand draft to NTPC Ltd., New Delhi.
