Iraq region seeks studies of three hydro projects of 260 MW

The Iraq Ministry of Electricity and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) seek bids to perform detailed feasibility studies of three hydropower projects in Kurdistan totaling 260 MW. Bids are due October 20.

Work is to include surveying works for dam and reservoir sites; hydrological, hydraulic, geological, and geotechnical studies; and hydropower plant studies.

Projects include:
o 52-MW Halwan, Greater Zab River, near Ifraz in Erbil Governate;
o 111-MW Gali Balinda, Shamdinan River, near Suri in Dohuk Governate; and
o 97-MW Delga, Lesser Zab River, near Qaladiza in Suleimaniah Governate.

Bid documents, in English, may be obtained from the first address below for 500,000 dinars (US$425) or the equivalent paid in cash to KRG Ministry of Electricity, Accounts Department. International courier delivery is available for a fee of US$100.

Bids are due by noon October 20 to Ministry of Electricity, Kurdistan Regional Government, General Directorate of the Diwan, Commercial Department, Brayaty, 60 Meter Street, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq.
