Iraq seeks generator coolers for 249-MW Derbandikhan

The government of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region seeks bids for supply of 12 generator air coolers for rehabilitation of the 249-MW Derbandikhan hydroelectric project on the Sirwan River. Bids are due September 30.

The regional government already is seeking bids for control, protection, and monitoring equipment for rehabilitation of Derbandikhan and the 415-MW Dokan hydroelectric project. (HNN 8/7/08) The World Bank approved a US$40 million loan to Iraq in 2006 to finance urgent repairs and to prepare for subsequent full rehabilitation of the dams in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.

Documents for the current solicitation, No. 34/2008 for 12 generator air coolers at Derbandikhan, may be obtained for 80,000 dinars (US$70) by visiting the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Electricity Ministry at the address below.
