Irish utility seeks rehab at 300-kW Cliff

Irish utility ESB Power Generation invites applications for pre-qualification to refurbish a 300-kW turbine-generator set at the Cliff hydroelectric project on the Erne River in County Donegal. Responses are due November 30.

ESB seeks refurbishment of the Cliff station house hydro set manufactured by Charmilles and installed in 1948. Work includes removal, disassembly, inspection, refurbishment, and reassembly of the turbine, governor, generator, and associated auxiliaries.

ESB said it anticipates issuing a request for tenders in first quarter 2007, with a contract to be awarded in the second quarter and work to be completed in the second half.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below. Applications to participate in English or Irish are due by noon November 30.
