Turlock Irrigation District issued a request for proposals Oct. 19 seeking power or renewable energy credits from renewable resources including hydropower. Bids are due Dec. 20.
Turlock said it will consider traditional pay-as-delivered energy purchase agreements, “hybrid” electricity purchase agreements involving pre-payment for energy, and proposals for sale of renewable energy credits produced by eligible renewable resources. From 2007-2017, the district seeks to increase its procurement of renewable energy by at least 27,000 MWh annually.
Eligible renewables include hydropower, ocean wave, tidal current, biomass, digester gas, fuel cells, geothermal, landfill gas, municipal solid waste, ocean thermal, solar, and wind sources. Turlock also will consider proposals for sale of renewable energy credits, known as “green tags,” without the associated energy.
The RFP and related documents may be obtained from the Internet at www.tid.org/old/electric/greenrfp.aspx. Bids are due by e-mail by 3 p.m. Dec. 20. For information, contact Tom King, Turlock Irrigation District, (1) 209-883-8230; E-mail: email@example.com.
