Kyrgyzstan seeks consultants for water management

The government of Kyrgyzstan seeks expressions of interest from consultants to develop a water resources management program for the hydro-rich central Asian nation. Responses are due October 11.

Work is to include assisting the government in implementing a new water code, including establishment and support to the State Water Administration, River Basin Councils, and Basin Water Administrations, plus preparation of a national water strategy and basin water plans and rehabilitation of the hydro-meteorological network. Other tasks include proposals to reform the Department of Water Resources.
