Micro-turbine lights Japan bridge

Mavel a.s. of the Czech Republic completed installation of a 4.3-kilowatt micro-turbine to light the historic Togetsukyo Bridge in Kyoto, Japan.

The city of Kyoto awarded the contract to light the bridge with hydropower as a symbol of “Green Energy for Kyoto.”

The MT5 turbine is a siphon turbine sold as a complete package. The project site has a head of 1.34 meters and flow of 0.53 cubic meters per second.

The project was carried out by Mavel’s Japan representative, Himawari N.E., which specializes in hydro plant construction.
