Montenegro seeks consultants for upgrade of 307-MW Perucica

Montenegro utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore A.D. (EPCG) invites applications for pre-qualification from consultants to assist in modernization and refurbishment of the 307-MW Perucica hydroelectric project on the Gornja Zeta River. Responses are due October 29.

On behalf of EPCG, Germany’s Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) is carrying out the solicitation with German financial cooperation. Improvements have been under way for several years at the high-head project to extend plant life and safeguard its reliability.

Consulting services are sought for Phase 2 of the program, comprising modernization and revitalization of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, including turbines, generators, and switchyard. Also included are hydraulic steel structures and rehabilitation of various civil works.

EPCG seeks a consultant to: perform critical review of existing studies and design; study the concept and scope of Phase 2; design measures to eliminate the present limitation on plant capacity; and perform economic and financial analyses of Phase 2. Preparation of tender documents and related design are included as contract options.
